The Role:

This role is responsible for ensuring the quality, food & product safety, health, safety and environment and energy management system requirements are established, implemented and maintained in accordance with the appropriate standards, legislation and requirements.

Role responsibilities:

  • Ensuring all QSE Management System procedures and records are reviewed, authorised and issued with the requirements of the ISO 9001, ISO 22000, FEMAS, OHSAS 18001, ISO 50001 and ISO 14001 Standards
  • Providing assistance and support in the preparation and maintenance of the QSE site manual and relevant documents
  • Scheduling, preparing and documenting Management Reviews in compliance with the QSE Management System
  • Conducting internal, supplier and waste contractor audits and inspections as required
  • Preparing and managing the internal audit schedule
  • Preparing and participating in external audits
  • Compiling QSE KPIs and QSE Reports
  • Configuring and managing IT system tools for the management of the QSE Management System
  • Ensuring all incidents and non-conformances are reported
  • Maintaining the register of food & product safety, health & safety and environmental & energy legislation
  • Monitoring and communicating relevant changes to standards and legislation
  • Ensuring waste is managed in compliance with waste legislation, ISO 14001 and corporate requirements
  • Advising on recycling and recovery options for a variety of waste streams on-site and ensure only the most sustainable options are taken
  • Ensuring the required waste data is available for the EPA’s Annual Environmental Report
  • Continually monitoring QSE management and compliance
  • Educating site personnel on relevant policies and QSE IT Systems

Key experience and skills required:

  • 3rd Level Qualification in Quality, Food Safety, Environment, Energy or Health & Safety or equivalent discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a similar production environment
  • Experience in working in a highly-regulated production environment dealing with regulatory bodies/authorities and adhering to standards
  • Strong working knowledge of food & product safety, health & safety and environment & energy related legislation and standards
  • Practical experience in preparing for and participating in internal and external audits
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient in electronic document management systems
