Production Manager

Quorum Search Partners are working with a progressive food industry organisation, based in Munster, who are adding to their management team. The company have a significant investment strategy in place and are looking to attract an experienced Production Professional to join the management team.

The role will attract Production Managers from a Dairy, Food or Pharmaceutical environment, who is seeking to develop their career to the next level.

Location: Cork, Limerick, Tipperary 

Role Overview:

The production manager is responsible for the optimum utilisation of plant assets, equipment, and people resources to achieve the production schedule for a range of products, in line with customer specifications, cost targets, quality targets, food safety requirements and GMP standards. The production manager will also focus on enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the production process, including making proposals for capital investment and assist with implementing capital projects as required.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day management of production supervisors/operators
  • Planning and scheduling, variable cost reduction
  • Process efficiency and optimisation
  • Motivating and developing staff and Retaining talent
  • Staff training and performance management
  • Maintenance of a safe work environment in compliance with company procedures and legal requirements
  • Environmental management On time delivery (OTD)
  • Overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
  • Quality (RFT)Food Hygiene and HACCP
  • Communication with management and production teams
  • Develop and maintain systems and procedures, Process loss reduction
  • Report on daily/weekly/monthly production performance

Skills Required:

The company uses production technologies such as evaporation, spray drying, attrition drying and membrane technology. The successful candidate will be familiar with all of the above dairy production technologies.

In addition, the successful candidate will need to have excellent skills in lean management principles, people management, team management, planning and scheduling production, cost management, dairy process optimisation, management of health and safety, environmental management, loss control, quality achievement and food and hygiene standard achievement.
