Chief Commercial Officer

Quorum Search Partners have been appointed search partner for the appointment of a Chief Commercial Officer on behalf of a multinational food group

Utilising significant R&D capabilities, our client has unlocked unique streams of high-value food ingredients & nutrients for the global food industry, our client is now positioning itself as a global leader with a pipeline of functional and dietary products under research.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Chief Commercial Officer will form part of the executive team and will be responsible for the development of the commercial strategy.

The CCO will be key to unlocking the market and delivering commercial contracts that will underpin the achievement of a highly ambitious business plan.

As a formative member of the management team, this opportunity will provide the appointed candidate with the opportunity to materially drive the success of a high potential new business.

Location: Dublin, Meath, Louth. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Development of the commercial strategy and development of market positioning
  • Identification and development of priority markets & commercial partnerships to achieve business targets
  • Contribute to the specification of target products to achieve differentiation and competitive advantage in target market segments
  • Construct a technical sales process to ultimately deliver revenue targets
  • Build and develop an external presence in terms of brand, website, online channels or other elements which contribute to the identity of the business
  • Identify and negotiate product distribution partners using already established networks
  • Promotion in all relevant markets and commercial team development

Personal Profile:

  • Deep capacity to analyse B2B functional food ingredient markets to identify optimum product, market & customer fit
  • Deep experience in food or nutraceutical markets that can immediately accelerate the promotion and sale of products
  • Strong negotiation skills including customer management skills
  • A highly ambitious individual committed to teamwork and delivery of results

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Relevant third level degree, preference is given to relevant food ingredients experience operating at a pan European or global scale
  • Technical background in ingredients or functional foods
  • Strong commercial experience involving marketing, sales, channel management, contract negotiation, development of pricing strategies and key account management
  • 5yrs + Experience in the development and launch of new product and development into profitable business lines
  • 5-10yrs + experience in a Senior Management position
  • Proven track record in seeking out and developing new target market/countries
