Shift Manager

We have an exciting opportunity with one of Ireland’s leading global brand companies for a Shift Manager for its site in Dublin West. This role would suit an experienced people manager with a proven track record in developing and leading high performing teams. An extremely attractive package is on offer which includes a shift premium, bonus and pension. This is a Permanent, full-time contract.

Location: Dublin, Kildare, Meath 


  • Lead assigned shift teams in the execution of the production plan
  • Ensure that the team understands and adheres to the operational, quality and process standards, work instructions, maintenance schedules, and performance targets
  • Manage shift resources, allocate duties and deploy team members to meet day-to-day production and maintenance requirements
  • Ensure that the shift technicians complete scheduled maintenance tasks, support the activities of maintenance specialists, and coach the technical operators in autonomous maintenance
  • Deliver and present operational efficiency reports
  • Ensure compliance and comply with all safety, health, environment, and quality legislation, procedures and standards in the workplace
  • Direct management of team members including performance management, Competency Assessments and Professional development support
  • Set team goals together with the team. Own KPI targets across shifts as well as for the line in the areas of productivity, quality, costs, service, safety and morale
  • Ongoing development of team competence through coaching and formal training
  • Manage all permanent and temporary personnel requirements including recruitment, Holiday approval and Absence management, performance and budget delivery for assigned Team
  • Be aware of line and area performance. Identify opportunities to improve performance, eliminate waste, and improve business processes


  • Experience leading a team and strong understanding of how to develop a high performing team
  • Third Level Degree
  • BEngTech/HCEng/City and Guilds (Mech, Elec, Mnf) preferable
  • Experienced in the use of data analysis to drive performance and problem solve
  • At ease with the use of applications (MS Office, etc.) and business systems (e.g. SAP)
  • Strong financial awareness, understanding of business drivers, budgeting processes
