My client, a rapidly expanding Irish drinks business, is seeking a Continuous Improvement Facilitator to join their team in Dublin. The company has been undergoing a lean transformation journey, this role will support the roll-out of implementation projects.

The ideal candidate will be an influential self-starter with a can-do attitude, who is open to change. They will be a strong negotiator, not afraid to challenge others.

They will lead and facilitate the company’s continuous improvement program in support of the Lean & Quality Manager. This requires input into the development of strategy, implementation plans and by plant-wide capability in selected best practices. The role aims to accelerate the transfer of manufacturing best practices into the manufacturing teams.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the improvement of CI and lean principles across all site functions to actively support world-class manufacturing excellence aspirations.
  • Actively identify and create the conditions to reach a culture of participation an involvement in which continuous improvement becomes self-evident.
  • Support the implementation of continuous improvement philosophy, practices, and lean tools.
  • Assist in establishing strategic and tactical CI plans and lead the implementation of the CI projects.
  • Stay informed of the latest external developments in CI best practices and help bring those onboard as appropriate and needed.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring agreed departmental targets are achieved and exceeded whilst managing costs and performance in line with budgets and mitigating variances.
  • Demonstrate an outstanding capability in problem-solving methods with the ability to train and coach others at all levels.
  • Track site and departmental performance, identifying opportunities for significant improvement and establishing projects to deliver value in these areas.
  • Follow problem-solving approaches as detailed in the Focused Improvement work practice.
  • Ensure compliance and comply with all safety, health, environment, and quality legislation, procedures, and standards in the workplace.
  • Embody company values, lead and facilitate change in work practices through training, coaching and challenging individuals and teams across the site.
  • Develop good relationships and teamworking with team members.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience required:

  • Preferred: BEng Degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing), minimum: BEngTech/HCEng.
  • Recognised Lean/Six Sigma qualification and/or demonstrable knowledge of continuous improvement, manufacturing methodology and implementation.
  • Basic financial awareness, understanding of business drivers, budgeting processes.
  • Excellent process improvement and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing excellence techniques.
  • Computer literate with strong numerical and verbal reasoning.
  • Ability to make an impact and influence without direct line authority.
  • Proactive, structured and logical problem-solving skills, respond to change in a positive and flexible manner.
