Consumer Insights Manager

One of Europe’s most successful Food Manufacturing businesses is seeking an experienced Consumer Insights Manager to join their team in Kildare.

This person will be responsible for the execution of customer culinary presentations for the Business Development team. They will participate in the ideation stage of strategic planning within the product innovation area and consistently report back to the team on new ideas or proposals, relevant trends, market visits etc.

The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator, a true foodie, and a natural leader. They will take a broad view of and genuine interest in what’s happening in the retail and foodservice sectors.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Be the leader or sponsor for all trends research-based projects that are set by the business innovation and/or sales strategic plans.
  • Gather and interpret up to date market research relevant to the business on a weekly basis, using current communication tools to deliver valued insights to Customers.
  • Maintain visual boards and communication tools within the lean area to the required standards set and use this process to drive speed and to check your value stream.
  • Prepare regular reports translating customer lifestyle trends and market activity to recommendations for new products or services. 
  • Build over time a list of delivered pipeline products linked to this process.
  • Lead Ideation sessions and any follow-up actions with customers to the agreed timelines set at that session or by the project sponsor. 
  • Support the S&I team on guiding projects to deliver the product to match the trend or insight set for that project.
  • Continuously develop and support specific Consumer Lifestyle Trends that deliver innovation or value to our Customers. 
  • Lead market research with Marketing delivering sales presentation/demonstration support
  • Take responsibility for key projects set by our business innovation plan and ensure that any targets set are achieved
  • Leverage access and relationships with key counterparts within the Marketing section of our targeted customers and suppliers.

Skills, qualifications and experience required:

  • A third level degree in a relevant field such as Business or Marketing. 
  • Experience in a similar role within the food industry and an interest in consumer shopping trends.
  • Competent in presentations and be confident speaking in front of a large group in various situations. 
  • Ability to convey ideas and information.
  • Ability to assess a customer’s needs and act upon those indicators in a timely, professional manner.
  • Demonstrate a high level of competence in PowerPoint/presentation skills and public speaking.
  • Ability to interpret market data and translate it into meaningful insights.
  • Stakeholder management and engagement.
