QA Supervisor

My client, a leading Irish food producer is seeking an experienced QA Supervisor to join their team in Kildare.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to be part of a fantastic team and play an active role in ensuring goods produced on site are to a high food safety and quality standard, as food safety & security is of paramount importance to the business.

This role is Monday - Friday and the hours are 3pm to 12am.

Salary is negotiable, DOE.


  • Manage all aspects of quality & food safety from incoming material, to processing and finished shipped product
  • Ensure that all products packaged conform to specification
  • Work with the team to ensure that customer specifications are met
  • Maintain & Improve Quality Standards
  • Ensure traceability is maintained at all times
  • Provide interface to Production staff and the Science & Innovation Team on quality issues
  • Have good working relationships with other departments within the company
  • Liaise with Plant Manager & Quality Manager
  • Collection of samples and logging of same
  • As the QA supervisor you will own and manage your own projects, which must be completed within agreed timeframes
  • The principles of Lean must be applied daily in problem solving, root cause analysis and change management
  • Ensure best practice, rules & regulations are in place & operating on site
  • Produce reports as required
  • Conduct environmental swabbing as determined
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained with respect to procedures and documentation control.
  • Prevent any risk to food/product safety
  • Dealing with customer queries relating to company and supplier systems and policies e.g. Animal Welfare, Ethical Trade, Halal and completion of customer questionnaires
  • Assisting with customer and regulator visits and ensuring appropriate PPE is in place

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Experience in maintaining quality systems and improving checks and systems
  • Experience working with production operatives in instilling quality and food safe focus
  • Strong knowledge of BRC and ISO standards
  • Experience in working and assisting during audits and site visits
  • Excellent manufacturing knowledge of food systems
