An exceptional opportunity has arisen with a leading Irish Food business based in Naas, Co. Kildare. This highly innovative business is seeking an experienced Development Chef to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

This role will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of culinary projects and other NPD support activities contributing to the continued growth of the business. The ideal candidate should have a high level of competence in culinary techniques and will be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of current food trends.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven, passionate NPD Chef to join a market leading business focused on execution of future trends. There are regular opportunities for development and progression within the wider Food Group.

This role offers a salary starting from €40,000 and a competitive benefits package.

Role & responsibilities:

Responsible for the continuous development and ownership of the Culinary innovation process to agreed performance metrics.
Lead projects to support new product launches and continuous improvement projects in line with the requirements and guidelines related to Innovation.
Ensure stage gate innovation process is used appropriately to deliver the agreed targets set by the business.
Manage projects to a high standard by completing all required documentation and maintaining an up to date and accurate reports.
Ensure structural performance, Quality, cost improvements, food safety and sensory are maintained.
Explore new technologies to support innovative R&D, through development of partnerships and support network with leading edge suppliers and culinary academic establishments.
Work closely with R&D Technologists to design and monitor industrial trials. Evaluates, and shares outcomes to drive decisions during project development phase.
Lead Customers presentations for the business, developing creative innovation programs for your Customers (both internal & external).

Skills, experience and educational requirements:

A Degree in Culinary Innovation would be beneficial.
Minimum of 2 years' of kitchen/culinary experience, in a similar development role.
A solid understanding of Food Safety & Quality Management systems.
Highly motivated and passionate about food.
Ability to taste and distinguish flavours and colors.
Ability to deliver kitchen recipes and concepts that strengthen and advance the R&D framework.
Good verbal and written communication skills and strong presentation skills
Excellent project management skills with ability to prioritise multiple activities simultaneously.
Flexibility to travel as required.
Due to the location, own car and full clean drivers license may be required.
