I have partnered with Europe’s fastest-growing food company to hire an experienced Finance Manager. My client has recently invested €30 million in expanding its world-class facility in the Midlands, the business is expected to double in the next 3-4 years.

The Operations Finance Manager will have a key role in shaping the growth of the company over the coming years. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in collecting, analysing and presenting financial information used to help management make sound business decisions.

The role will encompass preparing detailed analyses of both business problems and opportunities, as well as advising on financial implication to the business.

This role will suit candidates located in Longford, Carrick-on-shannon, Mullingar and Athlone.

Role and responsibilities:

• Preparation of annual budgets and monthly financial forecasts for the plant activities based on the production plan
• Assist with the preparation of management accounts in a timely & accurate manner
• Preparation and review of cost centres on a monthly basis, highlighting all variances to plan with commentary
• Maintain accurate hourly rates and product costs (actual and standard) in line with company policies and analyse variances between actual and standard product costs
• Report on cost reduction and efficiency improvement proposals
• Strive to implement a culture of cost control & discipline across all levels of the business
• Contribute at cross functional business & operational meetings
• Implement defined projects in accordance to timeframe & scope
• Contribute to driving the strategic direction and evolution of the financial model within the business

Qualifications, skills & experience required:

• A qualified accountant with BSc/BA in Accounting or similar
• 4/5 years of proven relevant business experience in a manufacturing company
• Solid understanding of financial planning and management reporting
• Good knowledge of risk analysis, budgeting and forecasting
• Good understanding of cost allocation, product costing and reporting
• Critical thinker with an analytical mind to sound decision making
• Experience with fully integrated ERP systems, preferably SAP
• Excellent communicator and presentation skills
• Team player, building and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues in Finance and across business functions on multiple hierarchical levels
