Technical and Quality Assistant

My client - a successful food manufacturer, based in West Cork, has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Technical Assistant to join their team.

This is a full time, permanent contract, with a competitive salary on offer.

Duties:

• To provide the relevant technical information for all products, packaging and specifications and to ensure that all products meet the required legal, customer & technical requirements.
• Responsible for raw material, packaging and customer specifications.
• New Ingredient risk assessments, approval and validation.
• Shelf life checks.
• Generate and approve packaging forms/pack copies.
• Artwork and label approval & checks.
• Manage RSPO Certification.
• Batch release.
• Quality and finished product checks.
• Microbiological swabbing.
• Reporting to the Quality Manager and working closely with NPD, production and National Account Managers.

Requirements:

• Degree in Food Science or similar.
• Previous experience in a similar quality / technical role within the food industry.
• Knowledge of all relevant legislation and quality standards (HACCP, BRC).
• Previous experience managing and completing product specifications.
• Excellent listening skills, attention to detail, planning and organisational skills.
• Flexibility required.
