My client, an extremely successful and rapidly expanding Global Retailer is seeking a Customs and Compliance Manager to join their team.

The Customs and Compliance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the process of customs classification and the auditing of associated procedures. They will report directly to the Project and Admin Director.

This is a full time, permanent position with an excellent Salary & Benefits.

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing the process of customs classification and ongoing control of the procedures
• Overseeing the resolution of queries raised by international customs teams
• Ongoing control of product origin documentation
• Ongoing control of product valuation
• Ongoing audit of import declarations and subsequent invoice payment
• Maintenance of auditable customs records
• Checking, reviewing and analysing data
• Identifying areas of improvement and optimising processes
• Cross-check various sources of information incl. contracts and internal systems
• Initiating and coordinating within the team or other departments in order to efficiently and effectively accomplish assigned tasks
• Liaising with external customs stakeholders to ensure efficient running of all import related tasks

Essential Experience & Skills Required:

• Experience working with customs data and knowledge of customs legislation
• Ability to prioritise and work in a fast paced environment
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to use your own initiative
• Highly focused and accurate with a meticulous eye for detail
• Ability to work to strict deadlines
• Great team player who works collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Confident using Microsoft Offices packages (incl. Excel)
