Trainee Buyer

My client a Leading & Expanding Food Manufacturer in North Dublin is seeking a Trainee Buyer/ Buying Administrator to join their team.

This is a newly created position reporting directly to the Purchasing & Trading Director.

This role with involve hands on training beginning with administration & learning about the industry, to progressing into a buying role.

Full time, permanent role. Salary: €30-35k (DOE)

Duties:

• Day to day admin for Imports from the UK
• Customs Declarations
• Work closely with the Buying team to build relations with new and existing suppliers
• Daily order placement/ purchasing from suppliers
• Assisting buyers with sourcing of fresh produce
• Support Buyers in planning and trading of product lines
• Monitor stock levels against sale projections
• Reviewing competitor’s offerings and price positioning
• Engage in regular competitor product and price checking
• Negotiate with suppliers in a fair and responsible way

Requirements:

• Education or experience in Procurement or Supply Chain in FMCG is an advantage (Business Admin/ Agricultural Science Graduates also)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Word
• Sales experience would be an advantage
• Good knowledge of the food distribution sector is an advantage
• Strong Negotiation skills
• Good Communicator – both internal and external
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Detail orientated
• Hungry for development
• Ability to Work from Home on odd weekends (15 minutes - 2 hours max)
