Sales Director

Our client is looking for a  Sales Director to lead the sales strategy within the Irish and International markets. This role will lead a small sales team, implement the sales business strategy, manage distributor relationships, and be integral in driving growth within the company. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the overall sales and growth plans within Irish, UK and International markets
  • Deliver the Revenue, Margin & Investment targets by market
  • Deliver sales growth and achieve sales targets
  • Agree the optimal in store location and merchandising plan
  • Analyse category data and implement strategies to win in the market
  • Develop the Sales team to exceed all business KPI’s
  • Manage promotional plans across each of the largest Irish retailers; deal directly with buyers/category to formulate
  • Obtain nationwide listings for all SKUs within company portfolio
  • Managing agreed KPI’s with Distributor (Sales, Volume, Distribution, displays etc) to ensure targets are being achieved effectively and on or under budget
  • Report with regular updates on markets performance
  • Manage the direct relationship between the Brand and Customers.
  • Work with supply chain to compile timely and accurate forecasting
  • Define market costs v budget, present efficient and accurate business forecasts, make recommendations for cost improvements and present figures to the wider team and Board
  • Monitor competitor and market activity and provide feedback and recommendations
  • Demonstrate in-depth market knowledge and problem-solving skills
  • Strategically plan and launch new products
  • Identify opportunities for the brand to reach new customers within existing and new markets
  • Partner with teams to establish necessary market activities, promotions, POS, etc.
  • Develop and build business relationships with key customers and managers and continuously drive to secure new business


Key Skills and Experience: 

  • 6-9 years’ proven experience within FMCG sales, with extensive knowledge of Irish Retail market and international expansion
  • Experience managing distributor and third party relationships
  • Proven track record in business development, category management and brand management
  • You are a dynamic high performer who is hungry to make an impact and be integral in creating an outstanding company
  • You have excellent written and oral communication skills aligned with impressive presentation and negotiation skills
  • You have proven commercial and strategic planning skills
  • Strong problem-solving and have analytical skills
  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit, in that you are comfortable with ambiguity and are energised by the process of building something lasting from the ground up
  • Strong organisation skills
