Supply Chain Specialist

I have an excellent career opportunity for an experienced Supply Chain professional or Supply Chain Graduate to join an expanding Irish food business located in Dublin West.

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for analysing and developing the current supply process to forecast raw materials usage and ensure stock availability.

This broad role in this evolving business offers excellent opportunities for Training and Development. Working hours of 8:00-16:30, Monday to Friday apply.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily production figures, to include targets versus output, efficiency, and wastage.
  • Minimise raw material and packaging stock levels while ensuring no production interruptions due to stock-outs.
  • Reduce cost and minimise waste by using real-time information to manage inventory.
  • Identify cost-saving initiatives with the supplier base and material handling.
  • Identify and implement improvements to stock management on site. 
  • Minimise the risk of a product recall by ensuring compliance with regulatory, quality, and safety standards.
  • Manage and track changes to formulas, recipes, and lifecycle and development costs.
  • Advise on the additional activities and KPIs needed for the implementation of the new ERP System. 
  • Review the current supply base for opportunities and improvements.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with production, sales, administration, NPD, warehouse, and finance teams.
  • Manage all orders with the supply base, assist the warehouse with the stock-taking process.
  • Be proactive in providing solutions to problems arising from variable finished product demand or stock issues.
  • Conduct tenders for raw materials ensuring the most suitable supply partners are selected.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.

Skills, experience & education required:

  • Degree qualified in a relevant field is beneficial.
  • 1- 2 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management preferable but candidates with less experience will be considered.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain concepts: Demand and Material Planning, Purchasing and Scheduling
  • Strong data analysis skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, proficient in the use of Excel.
  • Must have the ability to work on own initiative in a time-pressured environment.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a complex environment.
  • Attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to resolve problems and strive for continuous improvement.
