Are you an experienced Quality Control professional looking for a new and exciting position?

My client, a leading Irish food business, is seeking a QC Technician to join their site in Co. Westmeath.

The main purpose of the role is to enable the delivery of exceptional quality standards while continuously identifying relevant improvements.

This is a full time, permanent position with an excellent salary and learning & development opportunities.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with all safety, health, environment, and quality legislation, procedures and standards in the workplace.
• Aid in the implementation and management of Food Safety and QMS.
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• As part of the HACCP Team you will assist with all HACCP and Food Safety related programmes to meet regulatory and food safety requirements.
• Investigate non-conforming product and customer complaints.
• Co-ordinate with cross functional teams to sustain and improve product quality.
• Daily testing of finished product and the co-ordination of Monthly Micro Testing Programme.
• Monitoring of Suppliers and issue of Non-Conformance Reports.
• Conduct laboratory testing and calibration of equipment as required.
• Carry out standard Q.C. Checks.
• Training of production operatives on Food Safety Standards.
• Maintain and update Laboratory and Quality Procedures.

Requirements:

• Degree in Food Science or similar is desired.
• 2-3 years Quality experience in food manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP and BRC Food Safety Global Standard.
• Ability to work on own initiative, be self-motivated and have the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong user of Microsoft Office Applicatons.
