Maintenance Planner

My client, a highly innovative and rapidly expanding Food Group based in Co. Kildare, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to join their established team.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the role will provide support to the Maintenance Manager & Supervisors with all necessary administration duties needed in the Maintenance Department. Technical understanding of manufacturing lines, equipment, and planned maintenance will be an advantage, but not an essential requirement.

This is a full-time, permanent role offering excellent opportunities for progression within the group structure. Working hours are Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • In this ever-evolving role, responsibilities will involve the person developing the systems and delivering detailed reporting to support the maintenance function
  • Lead and hold weekly status meetings, escalating concerns, and open issues
  • Liaise closely with Maintenance Supervisors and Technicians
  • Review shift reports & work orders on CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) daily
  • Measure and publish KPI metrics, interpreting data, and recommending findings
  • Generate new Preventative Maintenance (PM) & review existing ones to meet with machine manufacturers recommendations. Update & maintain PM schedules
  • Enter new equipment and PM task lists into the system as required
  • Create critical spare parts lists in conjunction with machine suppliers
  • Deliver Technician conformance reports from shift reports, job cards & breakdown sheets
  • Updating AutoCAD drawings when changes have been made within the plant or with machinery (AutoCAD training will be provided)
  • Develop the Maintenance SOP library
  • Further develop the maintenance data systems, building the capability and reporting functions ensuring all asset data is up to date
  • Deliver process improvements to the Maintenance Manager
  • Responsible for Contractor management and control and assisting in shutdown periods

Skills & experience required:

  • 1-2 years in a similar role within a fast-paced manufacturing business
  • Technical understanding of manufacturing lines and equipment
  • An engaging communicator with the ability to escalate and raise issues for action
  • Excellent listener, with the ability to understand instruction and assess team needs
  • Progressive with strong self-drive, focused on developing and improving the maintenance system
  • Highly motivated and dependable with the ability to work primarily under own initiative
  • Excellent organizational and planning, multitasking, and prioritising tasks. 
  • Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills
  • EMaint or PEMAC knowledge an advantage, but not a prerequisite as full training will be provided on existing CMMS system and maintenance procedures
