NPI Specialist

We have an excellent opportunity for a NPI, Specifications & Compliance Specialist to join one of Ireland's leading food companies.

- 6 Month FTC.

- Salary: €50k per annum, pro rata.


  • Keeping abreast of legislative and customer requirements with regards to raw materials, product packaging information and communications and advising the site of same to ensure continued compliance
  • Review and approval of all new/updated raw materials & packaging items
  • Supplier Risk Assessment & Approval – Assessment of new ingredients & suppliers for suitability for use on site in conjunction with site Technical Manager and maintenance of Approved Supplier List
  • Pack copy – generating finished product packaging information for branded and own label products
  • Packaging – working with NPD team, commercial team, design houses, customers and printers in relation to finished product packaging designs
  • Generating and approving in house printed product labels in compliance with current legislation
  • Nutrition information – maintenance of raw material nutrition database and generating nutrition information for WIP/finished products
  • Generating and maintenance of both branded and customer finished product specifications
  • Working as part of an active HACCP team, monitoring and updating HACCP system
  • Participation in customer and 3 rd party audits conducted on site. Presenting information relative to the role and assisting as required
  • Sustainability – ensuring compliance to latest RSPO standard
  • Risk Assessments – completion of various risk assessments relative to raw materials and finished products
  • Allergen Control – maintenance of site allergen management in conjunction with Technical Manager


  • Minimum 2 years experience in similar role
  • Third level qualification in Food Science, Pharmaceutical, Nutritional Science or Food Engineering
  • Demonstrable understanding of Food & Labelling Legislation
  • Understanding of artwork generation and printing process
  • Demonstrable experience with specifications
  • Ability to work cross functionally, meet deadlines and build effective relationships
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Understanding of Food Safety and Quality Management Systems with good knowledge of BRC
