We have an opportunity for a fully or part qualified Accountant to join a leading food business in Co. Tipperary. This is a newly created position. 

The Accountant will report directly to the Financial Controller and join an expanding and motivated team. The Accountant will play a central role in the Finance & Admin department, and will also interact with other departments in the company, including Production, IT, Quality Control, Stores/Maintenance and Purchasing.

Full training will be provided for the candidate to learn about the business, production & products. 

Full-time, permanent position

Salary:  €40-50k (DOE) 

Responsibilities: 

• Assist the Financial Controller with all finance and accounting operations.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts to include P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and all reconciliations as relevant.
• Responsible for administration of Customs matters for the company.
• Introduce improved accounting of inventory including raw materials, finished inventory and consumable stocks including packaging.
• Provide holiday cover and support for Accounts Payable, Payroll and Accounts receivable administrators.
• Completion of Bank reconciliations.
• Creating Bulk file and all payments for uploading to bank for approval.
• Stock management.
• Carry out analysis on weekly payroll figures.
• Draft monthly VAT returns with submissions made to Revenue.
• Draft quarterly UK VAT returns with Submissions made to HMRC.
• Draft monthly VIES & Intrastat returns with submissions made to Revenue.
• Drafting of CSO returns.

Requirements: 

• A part qualified / qualified accountant with an ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA qualification.
• Industry experience and strong analytical skills would be an advantage.
• Previous accounting experience in a similar role.
• Good understanding of IT software packages and a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
