Account Manager (maternity leave contract)

Our client, an excellent business based in Co. Louth and operating within the fresh food space has an excellent opportunity available for a contract account manager. This role will take the lead with a retail key account and some travel to the key client within the Leinster region may be required. Remote working is in operation within the business at present in line with Covid 19 restrictions.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Building and maintaining strong relationship with a key retail customer- upholding effective lines of communication with internal departments and our customer is key.
  • Tracking and reporting performance & providing variance analysis against budgets, targets & forecast at weekly & quarterly intervals, as well as for key seasonal periods, post-range change reviews, etc.
  • Work closely with the customer & internal departments on the planning, execution & review of bi annual range changes and key seasonal events.
  • Work closely with Finance department to complete product and range costings.
  • Work closely with NPD department to plan & execute existing and new product development.
  • Work closely with Insight to identify opportunities to drive growth in line with the category plan and the overall company strategic plan.
  • Work closely with Technical department on commercial admin.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement project teams within the business.
  • Actively engage with Commercial Manager with ideas for continuous improvement of the department and category.
  • Actively participate in quarterly competitive set GAP Analysis.
  • Actively participate and where appropriate manage annual trade shows and industry awards.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Appropriate third level qualification.
  • At least 4 years’ experience working with FMCG, ideally within the fresh food sector.
  • Very strong commercial acumen, with good numerical and analytical skills.
  • Good knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications with particular focus on EXCEL.
  • Clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable presenting at online & in person meetings.
  • Efficient planning, time management and organisation skills.
  • Ability to multitask and be flexible in line with business demands.
  • Must have a full driver’s licence and their own car.
  • Must be able to travel with work as and when required.
