Logistics CoOrdinator

Role Purpose: 

The main purpose of this role will be to co-ordinate and assist with leading the stores and distribution department efficiently and effectively, resolving any issues in a timely manner while maintaining and improving Quality, Safety and Environmental standards.


  • Develop and maintain open lines of communication with Suppliers, third party contacts and all relevant departments
  • Coordinate a robust site transport management system for inbound and outbound deliveries and collections
  • Arrange transportation of deliveries both into the storage units in Europe and to other third parties and/or customers
  • Raise awareness to all relevant stakeholders of any potential issues
  • Ensure the receipt and processing of customer orders are completed in a timely manner in accordance with the Production Plan and the Delivery Schedule
  • Ensure all weekly and monthly reports are prepared and delivered to the agreed timelines
  • Ensure purchase requisitions are raised and processed in a timely manner
  • Areas of responsibility are at everyday BRC standard
  • Oversee quality procedures ensuring department is audit ready at all times
  • Responsible for organisation and arrangements for all aspects of health and safety for the department
  • Develop new or update existing risk assessments as required
  • Observe, act and immediately report any issues that may pose a threat to a safe working environment
  • Ensure stores operatives are fully conversant with current safe working procedures and that relevant safety related documentation is correctly maintained and issues are identified and acted upon accordingly
  • Ensure that the circumstances of any accidents, incidents or ‘near misses’ are recorded in detail, reported via specified methods and that any supporting documentation is completed promptly

Qualifications, Training and Skills:

  • Formal qualification or accredited training in Supervisory Management/Supply Chain/Stock Management/Logistics Food Science/Technology desirable
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing/Production supply chain operations, with evidence of consistent achievement of targets
  • Previous experience with ERP/Stock control/Purchasing systems 
  • IT literate in Microsoft packages and able to demonstrate use of Excel spreadsheets
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of Quality Assurance/Environmental systems and safe working practices in relation to Stores environment
  • Able to display initiative and apply problem solving skills
  • Strong organisation and planning skills with ability to prioritise and use resources effectively
  • Ability to communicate key data in a clear and concise manner
  • Teamwork oriented with leadership capability
  • Self motivated with excellent attention to detail
