Production Manager - Large FMCG group

An large innovative and award winning food group, a leading manufacturer in their category is seeking a Production Manager who has a track record of team management and developing successful teams.

As Production Manager, you will be an inspiring leader and will coach, develop and support direct reports to achieve excellence. You will also enable the business to achieve its goal of being a great place to work through various engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, motivate and retain a high-performing team Lead the role out of operational excellence.
• Establish a continuous improvement culture.
• Encourage and maintain high standards in relation to Health & Safety work practices.
• Promote a quality culture and act to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and product specifications.
• Ensure that operational issues are identified and managed to achieve KPI's.
• Communication within the team, cross functionally within the business & externally.
• Own the Production budget – labour, yield, waste, overheads & capex.
• Ensure production schedule adherence.
• Work with the engineering team to ensure downtime is minimised, ensure asset care routines & preventative maintenance plans are adhered to.
• Input to the operations strategy. 

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5+ years’ management experience in a food manufacturing environment with a proven track record in implementing Lean/Operational excellence programs.
• Experience with high volume, short shelf life products is highly desirable.
• Exhibit passion for people growth.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Excellent numerical skills.
• Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach.
• Good IT skills (MS Office), experience in implementing systems in a production environment is desirable.
• Highly motivated individual.
• The ability to work to strict deadlines and targets.
