Freight and Supply Chain Specialist

Our client, a leading global drinks business is currently seeking a Freight and Supply Chain Specialist to join their team on a 12-month fixed term contract. You will be responsible for overseeing and owning all freight related tasks including budgets, business freight tender process, management of vendors, and review of monthly freight spend, identify opportunities to deliver on continuous process improvements opportunities.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Manage all transport service vendors in line with agreed service levels
  • Work collaboratively to identify shipping issues and implement solutions
  • Compile monthly summary report of transport performance
  • Update of freight matrix in relation to fuel adjustments across all carriers and any cost

  • Review of financial reports of monthly freight spend/CTS (Cost to Serve) against budget and work to identify drivers associated with the main highlighted cost variances across each cost centre
  • Prepare, review and coordinate the completion of all applicable information and oversee full tender process
  • Oversee the creation and set up of MSA’s (Master Supply Agreements)
  • Monthly OTIF (On Time and In Full) reporting and review of findings
  • Sustainability & Responsibility framework champion
  • Initiate and support improvements to processes, systems and equipment to achieve higher levels of efficiency by removing manual processes to support business growth

Key Experience and Skills needed:

  • Degree in Business/Supply Chain Management
  • 5 years’ experience ideally in FMCG/Freight/ beverage industry
  • Excellent understanding of ERP systems specifically SAP and MS Office suite
  • Strong Analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills,
  • Strong negotiation with demonstrable track record and ability to create and maintain strong business relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent understanding of freight, transport, and distribution practices
  • Strong understanding of budgeting with financial logistics spend analysis and management
  • Proven process improvement background with Lean Six Sigma Belt and have an ability to lead continuous improvement activities would be an advantage
