Health and Safety Coordinator

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Health & Safety Coordinator to join a Leading Food Producer, Based in West Cork.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Health & Safety professional coming from a manufacturing environment, with a strong track record of delivering the highest standards in Health & Safety.

This business offers a competitive salary and excellent Training & Development and promotional prospects.

Full- time permanent position.

Flexibility is required for different shifts and weekend work.

Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience.


  • Create, maintain and enforce Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Stay up to date on current and new legislation, and guidelines.
  • Work closely with HR and the Production Management team on permit to work procedures, forms, and compliance.
  • Conduct risk assessments and update SOP’s.
  • Training all operators as new employees on H&S procedures.
  • Conduct Manual Handling, Forklift and Counter Reach Training with employees on site.
  • Provide weekly reports on development, practice, and compliance with advice on how to reduce and eliminate safety risks and noncompliance's.
  • Ensure the risk assessment of new machines, new lines and processes is carried out to ensure a safe work environment is maintained.
  • Liaise with official regulatory bodies and insurers on H&S matters.
  • Follow up on accident & near miss investigation procedures to ensure they are followed and completed in full by supervisors and production managers in a timely manner.


  • Degree / Diploma in Health & Safety, Food Science or related discipline.
  • Experience in a similar position within the Food/FMCG/Manufacturing.
  • Ability to operate, maintain and develop a site risk management system.
  • Experience in writing policies and procedures for Health and Safety.
  • Excellent communication, time-management and interpersonal skills.
  • Manual Handling & Forklift Train the Trainer Certificate is an advantage.
