Supply Chain Planner

The main responsibility of the Supply Chain Planner is to validate and place Purchase Order demands on approved Suppliers. You will be maximizing product availability while optimising business inventory through medium-term planning for the business. This role ensures the supply plan generated meets all customer/production demand while aligning with the business financial strategy.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Ensure continuity of Supply for your portfolio of products/commodities.
  • Translate business demand into supplier orders and raise/place orders with supplier while being conscious of agreed supplier lead-times/MOQs etc.
  • Laisse with business Inbound Logistics Coordinator and work in collaboration with the internal business manufacturing teams to ensure you can interpret forward production plans into future component demand, calculating raw material/packaging safety stock levels / re order points etc.
  • Work in collaboration with the internal business procurement team to ensure Supplier relationships are effectively developed.
  • Provide support to supplier planning teams by giving long range business volume plans as required.
  • Manage requests for stock outside of forecast and assist in the fulfilment of customer orders which are in excess agreed forecasts.
  • Proactively develop alternative supply options to minimize any stock outages.
  • Responsible for resolution of situations where defective inventory is received, delivery overs & unders and invoice discrepancies.
  • Cross functional collaboration with Commercial, Purchasing, Warehouse, Quality and Manufacturing business teams to ensure personal, team and business supply chain targets are met.
  • Commit to continuous improvement through ongoing review of existing internal controls, processes & working practices with a view to identifying and implementing improvements.
  • Work On/Lead Ad Hoc Business Transformation / Optimisation Projects as they arise.

Key Skills and Experience needed:

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years Supply Planning experience in a Global Business Environment.
  • Experience of Supply Chain in FCMG industry is a distinct advantage.
  • 3rd level degree in Supply Chain Management/Business or related discipline.
  • Proficiency across Microsoft applications (excel, word, powerpoint).
  • Strong decision maker with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Energy and enthusiasm for delivering to commitments as part of an integrated supply-chain team.
  • Data analysis and numeric skills with the aptitude to evaluate, understand and present data.
  • Strong problem-solving/trouble shooting skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Positive proactive attitude and thrives on dealing with multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong structural mindset with the ability to implement process improvements to drive the business forward.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Good communication and influencing skills.
  • Excellent Excel, PowerPoint and report writing skills.
