Commercial Manager

The Commercial Manager will report to the owners and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company and the daily commercial running of the business, financial and risk management operations. You will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing commercial activities in the Group, Human Resources and will encompass strategic business planning; financial and risk management; overseeing the annual commercial plan; general management and line management and leadership responsibilities.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the development of an overall strategic business plan, in conjunction with the business owners.
  • Coordinate the defining and delivery of annual KPIs in all aspects of business performance.
  • HR management of team and 6 monthly meetings with staff for general performance reviews etc.
  • Monthly meetings with Management and Accountant Manager 
  • Management of personnel and evaluate skills, monitoring and motivating staff and dealing with disciplinary matters when they arise.
  • Direct in aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organisation in conjunction with management and Accountant Manager for P&L/operational costs/improving processes etc.
  • Exploration of Investment opportunities and consideration for developing partnerships with others.
  • Assume overall responsibility for delivery of the annual commercial plan.
  • Drive profitability and financial performance through the identification of key opportunities and risks
  • Set and monitor budgets and targets.
  • Provide leadership and line management in regard to strategic human resources management, including for example; recruitment, training and development and reward policies.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships within the SMT/ business owners; colleagues; investors; suppliers and customers.
  • Oversee/support the development of organisational structures and job roles to support performance.

Key Skills and Experience needed: 

  • 5+ years in progressively responsible leadership roles.
  • Management experience gained in an SME/ entrepreneurial business environment; preferably drinks related.
  • Commercially savvy and experienced in building relationships with multinational companies.
  •  Practical, grounded commercially oriented professional with an interest in building sustainable long-term results
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate, build trust and influence all levels of the organisation and with staff.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate analysis and judgement.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
