Product Development Technician

Our client, an established and innovative food business based in South Dublin, is looking for a Product Development Technician to join their team.

 

Reporting to the Product Development Manager, the Product Development Technician will be responsible to improve existing products & processes and to develop new products.

Responsibilities:

• Suggest and assist with the introduction of new product lines, improvement of existing products and processes.

• Carry out new product development, to prepare samples, to carry out plant trials and to assist in their evaluation. 

• Provide product development assistance for new equipment selection, installation and commissioning, and creating Standard Operating Procedures for production.

• Assist and work alongside the Quality team to ensure that products are safe for human consumption.

• Inspect and carry out chemical, physical, sensory and microbiological tests.

• Assist in compiling in-house and finished product specifications, labels and procedures.

• Liaise with suppliers and to provide technical support to the sales team.

 

Experience:

• Third level qualification in Food Science related discipline.

• Previous experience in a similar position.

• Must have a keen interest in food technology with an enquiring mind. 

• Sufficient technical and written skills to perform the job. Fluent in English.

• Capable of growing with the company and in time to take on more responsibility including leading projects.
