Our client, an established and innovative food business based in South Dublin, is looking for a Product Development Technician to join their team.
Reporting to the Product Development Manager, the Product Development Technician will be responsible to improve existing products & processes and to develop new products.

Responsibilities:
Suggest and assist with the introduction of new product lines, improvement of existing products and processes.
Carry out new product development, to prepare samples, to carry out plant trials and to assist in their evaluation.
Provide product development assistance for new equipment selection, installation and commissioning, and creating Standard Operating Procedures for production.
Assist and work alongside the Quality team to ensure that products are safe for human consumption.
Inspect and carry out chemical, physical, sensory and microbiological tests.
Assist in compiling in-house and finished product specifications, labels and procedures.
Liaise with suppliers and to provide technical support to the sales team.
Experience:
Third level qualification in Food Science related discipline.
Previous experience in a similar position.
Must have a keen interest in food technology with an enquiring mind.
Sufficient technical and written skills to perform the job. Fluent in English.
Capable of growing with the company and in time to take on more responsibility including leading projects.
