Our client, a leading & expanding food producer is seeking a Hygiene Manager to join their team in Co. Longford.
Reporting to the Production Manager the Hygiene Manager will ensure the efficient and effective delivery of high standards of hygiene across the entire factory.

- Flexibility: General hours are Mon-Fri, day shift. However there may be the need to occasionally work over the weekend or out of hours - but this is up to the Manager to manage (time in lieu offered).
Role & Responsibilities:
- Managing the hygiene team in cleaning to the highest standard of the food production facility
- Managing cleaning equipment and tools and including chemicals
- Adhering to the agreed cleaning schedules, highlighting and managing exceptions as they arise
- Evaluating, planning and implementing improvements processes with the team
- Ensuring all aspects of Health & Safety is a key priority at all times
- Provide leadership to the teams especially on evening, night and weekend shifts
- Take an active part in day-to-day cleaning and ensuring the hygiene team are cleaning to the expected standard especially when manager is not in the factory
- A key point of contact on and active with issues of pest control and factory fabric
- A leader in the Continuous Improvement ambitions of the operation and encouraging a continuous improvement culture within the team
- Manage budgets for hygiene supplies, cleaning equipment and canteen supplies
- Ensuring all documentation is completed on time and audit ready
- Ensuring facilities including, front of house, toilet facilities, canteen and outside grounds of the factory are maintained at all times
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Third level qualification in a food science or related discipline
- Demonstrable experience in management and in particular cleaning and hygiene management
- Demonstrable experience in the area of people management
- At least 4 years of experience in a similar role
- Some Experience in Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing
- A strong communicator when dealing with all stake holders, Senior Management & Third party auditors
