Production Supervisor

Our client, Europe’s fastest-growing food company, is seeking a Production Supervisor to join their team in Longford.

 

They have recently invested €30 million in expanding its world-class facility in the Midlands. This role will be based in the new section of their Factory.

 

Reporting to the Factory Manager you will manage the day to day running of the shift through a number of production operators, delivering an operation that excels across the production process and delivers a level of operating efficiency that is best in class.

 

Full-time, permanent position. 

  

Rotating Shifts: 

Week 1: Mon/Tues (6am to 6pm), off Wed and back in Thursday (6pm to 6am) and Friday nights (6pm to 8am Saturday). 

Week 2: Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, nights (6pm to 6am).

Responsibilities: 

• Manage and prioritise production activities to meet the demands of the business. 
• Provide leadership to all production staff while building a production team that responds positively to production changes on short notice.
• Work cross functionally with all factory teams in terms of planning and ensuring that all products are of the highest standard.
• Ensure production safety and quality standards are accomplished.
• Taking an active part in day-to-day problem solving on the process and in more focused process improvement projects.
• Being a leader in the Continuous Improvement ambitions of the operation and encouraging this continuous improvement culture with all staff on the shift.
• Ensure all paperwork is completed to meet the business requirements.

 

Requirements: 

• Third level qualification or related on the job experience.
• Experience in manufacturing management/supervision. 
• Demonstrable experience in the area of people management.
• Some experience in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.
• Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• An ability to work both independently with limited guidance, and to recognise the benefits of being a key member of the factory management team.
• Flexibility to work different shift patterns.
