Quality Officer - Excellent Salary & Bonus

We have an excellent opportunity for a Quality Officer to join a Leading Food Manufacturer, based in Co. Cork.


Reporting to the Site Quality Lead, this role requires working to deliver results that will ensure Finished Product Right First Time targets are met, food safety and hygiene standards are met and that performance is achieved in customer, regulatory and certification body audits. 


The Quality Officer is a key support role to the Site Quality Lead and is recognised as a key player within the site team. 


Full time, permanent position. 

Salary is negotiable, depending on experience. 

Package also includes a 15% bonus and pension contribution.

Core Responsibilities Include:

  • Promote a Food and Health & Safety culture within the site and set and monitor adherence to all Quality and Environmental, Health and Safety standards and procedures.
  • Handling of customer complaints & implementing actions ex audits, PS’s. Quality – RFT, Hygiene, Incident reporting & Change Control. (Ensuring corrective actions are planned & carried out)
  • Reporting issues to your manager, compliant to all SOP’s. Obey all hygiene rules & take part in training, food safety is your responsibility.
  • Develop and update systems as required i.e. policies, procedures and risk assessments to meet the requirements of BRC or FSSC.
  • Management of the site's sampling, testing, investigating and treading.
  • In conjunction with Site Quality Lead, lead, assist and facilitate customer, site and regulatory audits.
  • Monitoring and reporting on in-process results and leading indicators Issuing of COA’s and or EDI results in line with product grading.
  • Monitoring and verification of OPRP’s, CCP’s, and monitoring GMP/GHP/GDP rules.

  • Team Player Ability to work on own initiative, a positive, can-do, resilient & flexible attitude.
  • Good writing & coaching skills.
  • Excellent technical competence with the capacity to effectively analyse issues & problem solve.
  • A questioning mentality with the objective of driving best practice & RFT (Right First Time).
  • Attention to detail & a completer/finisher.
  • Awareness of the requirements of the best practice Food Safety Standards, FSSC 22000, BRC.
