We have a fantastic opportunity for an Engineering Manager to join a high volume food manufacturing company in Scotland. Our client is a well established employer with a multi million investment plant.

 

Full time, permanent role

 

Negotiable salary plus 28 days Annual Leave & Pension Contributions. 

 

The Engineering Manager will report to the Site Operations Manager and will lead a team of 5 Engineers, to support the site business strategy through the management of an efficient and effective engineering function. 

 

Responsibilties:

• To provide leadership to the site engineering team 
• To manage and direct the day to day operations of the Maintenance team, including determining needed repairs and improvements, establishing project priorities and assigning work tasks
• To manage and advise on third party site contracts
• To improve the production facilities and reduce the number of costly breakdown incidents 
• Deliver a program of planned preventative maintenance 
• To ensure that the departmental KPIs are implemented and achieved
• To work with and through the Engineering buyers/Group Procurement team to ensure timely maintenance of the inventory of spares and repair parts, materials and tools
• Hold weekly/fortnightly maintenance/continuous improvement meetings with documented action points

 

Requirements:

• Strong leadership & communication skills
• People Management Experience leading an Engineering team
• Similar experience working within food manufacturing
• Fully trained on Lean Manufacturing Practice and Continuous Improvement Processes
• Engineering Management experience within a meats environment would be an advantage
