Our client, a Leading Food Producer for more than 150 years in Ireland, is seeking an Engineering Manager to join their team in North Dublin.
Responsible for managing an Engineering Supervisor and 5 Technicians.
To ensure the smooth operation of the site by developing the engineering strategy and then leading the implementation of that strategy. You will be expected to maintain best-in-class factory uptime whilst ensuring that all practices, systems and equipment on site are in accordance with the latest Health & Safety requirements.
Full-Time, Permanent Position.
Salary is Negotiable, Depending on Experience.
7% Pension Contribution after Probation Period.
Role Description:
The successful candidate will take full ownership of all aspects of engineering on site and report to the Manufacturing Director. Responsibilities will include:
Coaching, development and management of a multi-skilled, team of engineering staff.
Developing and implementing a preventative maintenance programme and continuously reviewing and improving the effectiveness of that programme.
Setting tangible, measurable performance objectives for the engineering team and assessing individual performance against same.
Deliver the requirements of BRC, continuous improvement and other quality and safety standards within the engineering function.
Deliver best-in-class machine uptime.
Advancing the sustainability agenda within the plant.
Working closely with colleagues on the Operations Management team to achieve the overall goals of the team.
Liaising, from time to time, with local authorities, environmental agencies and insurers to achieve optimal outcomes for the company.
Developing, monitoring and reporting on spend versus budget for the Engineering function.
Project Management of capital expenditure items across the site.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
The successful candidate will be educated to Degree Level in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or an Electrical Trade Qualification. They will have a problem solving mind-set.
Experience with Programmable Logic Control functions.
Five years plus of proven people management experience at a senior level.
Familiarity with food process best practices.
Experience in project management.
High level of numeracy.
Strong PC based skills.
Comfortable and experienced in negotiating prices and services.
Excellent communication skills.
A mind-set adapted to both problem-solving and innovation.
