Supply Chain Accountant - Hybrid

Our client, a leading food manufacturer based in Co. Cork, is now looking for a Supply Chain Accountant to join their team.
Reporting into the Supply Chain Manager, this role will provide financial support and direction as part of the Supply Chain Finance Function and have responsibility for reporting on the financial information regarding the Supply Chain from Factory to Customer.
Full-time, permanent position.
Hybrid role (3 days in the office, 2 working from home) after training is complete.
Salary is negotiable, depending on experience.
Core Responsibilities Include:
- Analyse, storage costs, identify opportunities to recover costs and report and provide explanations for variances on warehousing costs on a monthly basis.
- Analyse, report and reconcile export haulage spend monthly and provide variance analysis.
- Review, report and make recommendations on export haulage cost recovery.
- Work with the Supply Chain Finance Business Partner on reporting the contract manufacturing results on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Supervise the preparation of the monthly accounts for the quality departments and review the report for explanations of variances arising.
- Review the weekly payroll variances for the QC department identifying any issues/opportunities.
- Work with other members of the team to analyse the QC spend and identify where savings can be made in conjunction with the various lab managers.
- To work with team members in preparing the Annual Financial Budget especially in relation to storage costs, traded products and quality departments.
- Issuing Supply Chain weekly estimate and actual reports such as performance of the prior period.
- Assisting in ad-hoc reports and project work as required.
Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA & CIMA), Part Qualified or Qualified by experience.
- Excellent IT/financial systems experience.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office.
- Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Excellent planning and organisation skills, ability to multitask, plan and prioritise work schedule and work within agreed timescales.
- Resilience and capable of working under pressure in a demanding environment.
- Excellent financial and analytical skills with a strong understanding of the underlying processes in producing and interpreting financial data.
- Team player with the ability to supervise, assist and direct other team members.
- Commercial awareness, business acumen.
