Regulatory & Technical Affairs Assistant - Hybrid

We have an exciting, new opportunity for a Regulatory & Technical Affairs Assistant (Hybrid) to join a leading FMCG Business, based in Co. Wicklow. 


Reporting to the International Regulatory Compliance Director, they are seeking a highly motivated Technical Professional with a Food Science background to join our Regulatory & New Product Development Department at their EU Head Office in Wicklow. 


This role offers a diverse range of duties from Regulatory, Technical to NPD.


Full-Time, Permanent Opportunity. 

Salary is Negotiable, Depending on experience.

Hybrid Working (flexibility on 1 or 2 days in the office).

Pension Contribution and VHI Health Care Group plan. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively with the Internationally based Regulatory & Sales Teams in sourcing and preparation of the necessary documentation for the portfolio of products which are exported worldwide. (e.g., Certificates of Analysis, Certificates of Conformity, Product Data Sheets, Health certificates and SDS).
  • Be aware of the current guidelines and directives and closely monitor databases for regulatory updates that may impact the business and/or products and present feedback to the team.
  • Assist in the development and approval of product artwork, utilising advanced knowledge of associated EU regulations to ensure the technical accuracy and compliance of product labels and related materials.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures & Quality Management Systems to ensure the company’s practices and processes are compliant with all EU legislation & International regulatory standards.
  • Assist with new product development & product introductions, compiling finished products specifications for branded & private label customers.
  • Conduct market analysis to determine possible new product opportunities.


Personal Competencies & Qualifications:

  • Minimum BSc in Food Science or similar, MSc is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of the Food, Pet Food, or ingredients (distinct advantage).
  • Relevant work experience within the food sector (distinct advantage) with knowledge of EU Regulations.
  • Experience in Quality Control & Quality Management Systems (BRC, ISO22000) (distinct advantage).
  • Good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Be adept at prioritising your work, assessing challenges, and managing a variety of projects/briefs.
  • High level of proficiency in MS Word, Excel (Intermediate level) and PowerPoint.
  • Teamwork is essential, the role requires excellent interpersonal and rapport-building skills, with the ability to communicate effectively, to share learnings and manage deadlines.
