We have a fantastic opportunity for an R&D Technologist to join an award-winning food company based in South Dublin.

 

Full time, permanent role

Excellent salary

Standard 40 hours per week with flexible start & finish times

 

The R&D Technologist will be responsible for creating specifications as part of the NPD process and delivering these in the format required by the customer.

 

Responsibilities:

• Creating summary and full specifications for all new products.
• Input in product design.
• Ensure accurate hand-over of specifications to QA upon successful first production.
• Assist in managing new artwork/labels.
• Plan and prepare samples for lab and organoleptic testing and maintaining the administration around this.
• Attend critical path meeting and action tasks related NPD/product specifications.
• Prepare product recipe sheets for costing and further internal processing.
• Calculate nutritional information in Nutricalc and assess compliance of this.
• Ensure BRC and company standards are adhered to throughout the NPD process
• Assist the QA Manager with internal audits.

 

Requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role in the food industry, specifically in creating specifications.
• Degree in Food Science/Technology or similar.
• Experience in using different online customer specification platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience working in a bakery business would be an advantage.
• HACCP trained.
