We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior/Trainee Cost Accountant to join a Leading & Rapidly Expanding Food Business based in Co. Galway.

 

Reporting to the Finance Director and joining a team of 3. 

 

Seeking ambitious candidates who are looking to grow and develop their careers, within an exciting company. 

 

Open to both Fully Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountants. 

 

Full-Time, Permanent Opportunity. 

Salary is Negotiable, Depending on Experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Planning, studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, labour & overheads.
• Analysing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost.
• Analysing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
• Analysing audits of costs and preparing reports.
• Making estimates of new and proposed product costs.
• Accumulate and apply overhead costs as required by generally accepted accounting principles.
• Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close.
• Reconcile finished goods inventories.
• Work in special projects as required, in particular Lean Management Programme.
• Analyse capital budgeting proposals.

 

Requirements:

• Fully Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA).
• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Excellent IT Skills. 
• Strong organisational and planning skills with ability to prioritise effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, strong work ethic & organisational skills.
