Food Product/Process Technologist

We have an exciting opportunity for a Product & Process Technologist to join a Leading Food Manufacturer, based in Co. Longford.
Searching for an individual who will be responsible for Innovative new products and processes.
Who will maintain and extend current ranges ensuring delivery of the project concepts in a timely manner. Inspiring others through food, industry and consumer knowledge.
Reporting to the Technical / NPD Manager.
Full-Time, permanent position.
Salary is negotiable, depending on experience.

Role and Responsibilities:
- A key member and participant of the Technical and Product Development Department.
- Participate in NPD brainstorming, concept creation and analysis.
- Champion or key project member for elected customers and briefs.
- Successful delivery of kitchen concepts to full scale production.
- Assist in market research on concepts, technologies, new ingredients, packaging & products aimed at strategically moving the business forward.
- Kitchen sample development, line trial preparation and overseen production trials.
- Documentation of manufacturing specifications, quality standards and photographic guides
- Working and communicating with relevant departments; Production, Quality, Maintenance, Hygiene, Finance, Procurement, Logistics, Account Manager to ensure seamless delivery of product to line.
- A proactive member of the Product Consistency and Product and Process Capability teams.
- Participate in feasibility studies of products and follow NPD product schedules during the development stage. Also hold post trial meetings to evaluate the outcomes.
- Monitor product and process performance and champion improvement projects where warranted.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of customer visits, meetings and presentations.
- Impart product and process knowledge of production lines to elected personnel through an agreed training plan.
- Participate as needed in the commissioning of new technology / manufacturing equipment and practices to meet defined deadlines. Ensure all documentation in relation to commissioning is maintained and visible for audit purposes.
- Become Lead or a member of customer facing teams as and when deemed appropriate.
- Manage and conduct work activities to ensure the health, safety and welfare of you and your colleagues.
Qualifications and / or Experience:
- Hold a relevant 3rd level qualification in Food Science or related subject.
- Min 3 years’ experience desirable within new product development.
- Possess a good understanding of process and factory operations..
- Good know how of processes and technologies involved in food manufacturing.
- Good know how of raw materials and impact on the process, final product and regulatory compliance.
- Strong planning, analytical, problem solving and resolution skills.
- IT Proficient - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.
- Ability to create a climate of innovation – has passion for new knowledge, experiences and challenges.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance with quality standards.
- Results driven – with the willingness to go above and beyond.
