Poultry Farm Auditor & Advisor

We have an exciting opportunity for a Poultry Farm Auditor & Advisor to join a successful food company in Monaghan.
As an auditor and advisor, you will be using your farm/agricultural expertise to ensure that current procedures and standards are met on farm, delivering assurance and consumer confidence.
- Full time, permanent opportunity
- Hours of work are 8.30am to 5.30pm, Monday - Friday
- Company Van is provided from place of work
- Negotiable salary depending on experience

To be successful in this role, you will need a strong, practical, on farm background preferably in the poultry/agricultural sector. You will demonstrate an excellent understanding of food safety & hygiene practices and farming practices. Practical experience of auditing against agricultural standards is desired, but not essential.
Responsibilities:
- Monthly auditing of farms against all relevant legislation and agricultural standards.
- Regular microbiological sampling.
- Training and advising farmers in areas such as biosecurity, food hygiene and sustainability.
- Identify areas for improvement and drive continuous improvement at farms.
- Provide support to farmers to correct non-compliance’s raised and put measure in place to prevent re-occurrence.
- Investigating customer complaints at farm level and implementing corrective actions.
- Liaising with farmers on any quality issues identified at the packing centre.
- Co-ordinate and participate in the Bord Bia audits for the farms.
- Be an active member of the Origin Green team and represent the farms within the Origin Green Plan.
Skills & Requirements:
- Diploma / Degree in Food Science / Food Technology is preferred but not essential.
- Practical auditing experience is preferred but not essential.
- Poultry experience would be an advantage.
- An interest in animal welfare.
- 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role is required. Some understanding of HACCP principles, Bord Bia standards would be desirable.
- The ability to communicate with and engage with both the farming community and colleagues in a confident and patient manner whilst ensuring understanding.
- Full clean driving licence is essential.
