An excellent opportunity for a Laboratory Technician has arisen with our client, a leading FMCG company based in Co. Longford.

 

Reporting to the Development and Innovation Manager, the successful candidate will be a key member of the R&D Team involved in the day to day running of the laboratory.

 

Full-time, permanent position.

Working Week/ Hours: Monday-Thurs (9.15am - 5.30pm) Friday (9.15am - 4.30pm)

Salary is negotiable, depending on experience.

Pension Contribution.

20 Days Annual Leave.

 

Core Responsibilities Include:

• Ensure laboratory operates efficiently in line with G.L.P and is audit ready.
• Responsible for the daily chemical testing of raw materials and finished product as per schedule.
• Responsible for mineral analysis (monthly basis) Calcium, Phosphorous, Sodium (pouch, alutray & can).
• Responsible for carrying out other various testing required on site on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Responsible for the sourcing and purchasing of laboratory materials and equipment. Maintenance of adequate stocks at all times.
• Involved in the installation and calibration of new equipment in the laboratory. Initial calibrations and subsequent calibrations for finished products (pouch, alutray, cans) and raw materials and reporting and trending findings.
• Liaise with departmental colleagues on current development projects.
• Preparation and circulation of analytical reports trended and analysed.
• Trending and reporting of out of spec results for both finished product and raw materials.

 

Requirements:

• Third level qualification in Food, Science or related discipline and experience of working in a laboratory.
• Excellent Communication Skills with the ability to deal with all levels of the organisation.
• Microsoft Office knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), experience of document control system and quality information system.
• Be highly customer focused and possess the necessary communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Good Problem Solving & Decision-Making Skills and attention to detail.
