We have a fantastic opportunity for a Technical Assistant to join a successful food company based in Meath.

 

Full time, permanent role
Negotiable salary depending on experience
Monday to Friday - 40 hours 8am to 5pm usually

 

Responsibilities:

• Conduct quality control checks on raw materials, packaging, in-process products, and finished goods to agreed customer specification
• Verify production records are completed correctly and in the timely manner
• Manage sampling programme for microbiological, allergen, chemical and organoleptic testing for incoming goods and finished products
• Report non-conformances and drive root cause analysis
• Assist with the launch of new products
• Create, maintain and update specifications for customers
• Coordinate all sample requests
• Coordinate in-house benchmarking and tasting exercises
• Support the Quality Manager in implementing the Quality & Food Safety Policy, Procedures & Standards
• Participate in external food safety and quality audits, customer & governing bodies audits

 

Skills & Experience Required:

• Degree in Food Science or similar
• Good communications skills
• Keen eye to detail
• While fully supported must be a self-starter with ability to use initiative at all times
• Knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS and customer standards and retailers’ specifications platforms, desirable but not essential
• Experience working in the Food Production industry, desirable but not essential
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
