Production Shift Manager

We have an excellent opportunity for a Production Shift Manager to join a well established food manufacturer in Laois.

 

Reporting to the Production Manager, this role will involve leading a team of up to 14 employees and have responsibility for managing the day to day operations of the production and packing departments.

 

Shift Work: 2 days (day shift), 2 nights and 4 days off (rotational basis).

 

Full-Time, Permanent Position. 

Salary is Negotiable, Depending on Experience. 

KPI Bonus.

VHI.

Pension Contribution.

 

Responsibilities:

• Monitor all process controls points on a continuous basis.
• Escalate any process or quality issue that cannot be adequately addressed by changes within normal operating parameters.
• Promote effective problem solving involving all team members.
• Lead on agreed continuous improvement initiates using structured LEAN tools
• Monitoring and accurately recording usage, yield, quality and efficiency data.
• Ensure timely and accurate records are maintained and that all operational checks are carried out and documented.
• Managing all aspects of production and packing on shift.
• Support the maintenance team to deliver best practice asset care through correct operation of process equipment.
• Managing performance where necessary through a formal structured process.
• Identify improvement opportunities to improve safety, quality and operational efficiency.
• Support the Production Manager in the preparation and delivery of annual operating budgets.
• Ensure that the site's service level meets customers’ expectations.

 

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of previous experience of shift supervision and team leadership in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience of SAP, Lean processing, 5 Whys and root cause analysis is an advantage.
