Maintenance Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Manager to join our client, a well established FMCG company based in Waterford.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will be responsible for managing a team of maintenance staff and ensuring the site is fully supported through its efficient management of the engineering function.
Full-Time, Permanent Position.
Mon - Fri, 40 hour working week.
Excellent salary on offer.

20 days Annual Leave.
Responsibilities:
- Drive and achieve the key business objectives and performance targets set by the company for the Maintenance Department.
- Monitor and manage maintenance costs within budgetary limits, following company policies and procedures.
- Provide strong leadership to the site engineering team by guiding engineers during breakdowns and overseeing urgent repairs.
- Efficiently manage the day-to-day operations of the Maintenance team.
- Plan and respond to scheduled and unforeseen work, ensuring the engineering team has the necessary skills to meet requirements.
- Effectively utilise internal and external resources to handle on-site situations based on their capabilities and expertise.
- Oversee third-party site contracts, coordinating with relevant Key Stakeholders to manage costs, service level agreements (SLAs), and contractor satisfaction.
- Develop proactive maintenance strategies to enhance overall reliability of the plant, personnel, and production processes.
- Encourage initiatives that support the motivation, training, development, and deployment of maintenance employees.
- Manage and maintain all Site Utilities (Electricity, Water, Air, Refrigeration, etc.) by leveraging the site Engineering team and external contracts as needed to ensure uninterrupted and high-quality services.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mechanical, Automation & Maintenance Fitter (MAMF) after completing an apprenticeship, showcasing strong proficiency in the field.
- Possess excellent organisational competencies and project management skills to efficiently oversee projects, processes, and the Maintenance Team as a whole.
- Self-motivated with the ability to handle multiple tasks and excel in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
- Willingness to travel to various sites within the Republic of Ireland and the UK (approx once per month).
- Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve maintenance issues promptly and efficiently.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to enforce them within the Maintenance Team.
