Quality Control Technician (12 month contract)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Control Technician to join a successful food company in Monaghan on a 12 month Maternity Cover contract. This role would suit a recent graduate or someone with 1-2 years of experience working in the food industry.

 

The role requires an energetic and dynamic person who can work well unsupervised and on their own initiative. The candidate will report to the Quality Manager and will work alongside an existing team to ensure that both product and process meet specification, statutory obligations & customer requirements.

 

• 12 month maternity contract opportunity
• Hours of work:6.00am - 3.00pm
• Negotiable salary depending on experience

 

Responsibilities:

• Ensure all products are produced to the required specifications, manufacturing practices and food hygiene legislation.
• Conduct regular hygiene audits, quality checks , label verification and system compliance checks.
• Regular microbiological sampling, recording and trending.
• Provide technical support in the identification of non-compliance’s and implement corrective actions.
• Investigating customer complaints and implementing corrective actions.
• Ensure the QMS is implemented, maintained, and improved on where necessary.
• Prepare for and participate in customer visits & 3rd party audits.
• Document control administration.

 

Requirements:

• Diploma / Degree in Food Science / Food Technology is preferred but not essential.
• Good presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work on own initiative and unsupervised but also work well as a team player.
• Good time management, planning and organisational skills.
• Some understanding of HACCP principles, Bord Bia standards and BRC V8 would be desirable but not essential.
• Ideally have 1- 2 years’ experience in a FMCG environment however full training will be provided.
• Full clean driving licence is required.
