Product Development Technician

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Product Development Technician to join a well established food manufacturer based in Dublin South.
As a key member of the NPD team, this position will support the Product Development Manager by developing and improving new products and processes.
Full time, permanent position.
Mon- Fri, 8am-4pm.
Salary is negotiable depending on experience.
20 Days Annual Leave.
Responsibilities:
- Support the introduction of new product lines, enhance existing products and processes, and contribute to innovative ideas.
- Develop new products, prepare samples, conduct plant trials, and assist in evaluating their safety, stability, and compliance with regulations.
- Provide product development assistance for selecting and installing new equipment, as well as creating Standard Operating Procedures for production.
- Collaborate with the Quality team to ensure products leaving the facility are safe for consumption.
- Perform chemical, physical, sensory, and microbiological tests, taking appropriate actions based on results.
- Promote and maintain high-quality standards, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Aid the production manager in introducing new product lines and improving existing products and processes.
- Assist in compiling specifications, labels, and procedures for in-house and finished products.
- Liaise with suppliers and offer technical support to the sales team.
- Maintain accurate records of work and seek assistance when needed.
Requirements:
- Third-level qualification in a Food Science related discipline.
- Prior work experience in a food-related role is essential.
- Possesses a keen interest in food technology and exhibits an inquisitive mindset.
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Quick to learn, understand, and generate new processes and ideas.
- Detail-oriented with problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
- Strong technical and written communication skills, with fluency in English.
