We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Manager to join a leading, successful FMCG.

 

• Full time, permanent role
• Hours of work: 8am - 5.00pm Monday - Friday
• Negotiable salary depending on experience
• Excellent benefits including pension contributions, 15% Bonus, Phone, Car Parking & 22 days annual leave

 

The person will be responsible for the Quality Management System, ensuring the company is in line with technical food safety standards, NPD, ingredient evaluation & functionality, supplier approval, implementing and conducting product inspection, testing, and evaluation methods to ensure products closely meet company and regulatory standards, develop SOP’s and continuously drive a positive food safety culture.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• To liaise with the technical departments of customers and suppliers
• Manage and overview all quality control and quality assurance function from end-to-end process
• Maintain Quality Management Systems and HACCP system
• Review and report KPIs to management 
• Investigation of non-conformance, deviation, customer complaints and ensure the corrective/ preventive action is effectively in place
• Ownership of preparing and organising site for all audits ensuring resolution of previous actions through cross-function teams
• Assist in continuous improvement initiatives
• Carry out internal audits and inspections
• Carry out product & packaging traceability exercises

 

Qualifications and skills required:

• Minimum four years’ experience in food manufacturing
• Food Science degree
• BRC and Grocery Retail Food Standard experience essential
• Food Hygiene certificate (HACCP and internal auditing certificate desirable)
• Proficient in MS office (previous experience of SAP desirable)
• Attention to detail and ability to understand standards and specifications
• Disciplined in adherence to standards and specifications set
• Experience in supplier assurance programme / supplier auditing
