A fantastic opportunity for an Environmental Health & Safety Officer has arisen with our client, a successful food company based in Co. Longford.
This position which would be ideal for anyone with 1-2 years experience or a recent H&S graduate.
Reporting into the Health & Safety Manager, the EHS Officer will assist in the management of the Health & Safety Program for the site, ensuring compliance and best practice is maintained across all areas of the business.
Full-time, permanent position
Standard working week (Monday- Friday)
Salary is negotiable, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and coordinate environmental/safety meetings and activities monthly.
- Maintain and administer the company safety manuals, SOPs and other related H&S documents.
- Deliver and complete statutory notifications to the HSA for all accident/incident reporting.
- Ensure records of statutory inspections are kept for all activities and plant equipment.
- Carry out regular site safety audits, risk assessments and implement necessary corrective actions.
- Management of accident, incident and near miss investigations.
- Facilitate the implementation, monitoring and review of the H&S policies and implementation of new company safety procedures, as required.
- Assist in developing delivery and maintenance of in-house safety training programs.
- Delivering H&S induction programmes for new employees/contractors.
- Support system audit and inspection requirements of EHS Management Systems.
- Monitor Occupational and Environmental Health & Safety Legislation and developments.
Requirements:
- The ideal candidate will have Diploma/BSc/MSc in Environment, Health and Safety discipline.
- Previous experience of writing EHS documentation including SOPs, EHS training courses and risk assessments preferable.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance procedures, publications and an ability to interpret relevant legislation.
- Experience in Environmental management systems is desirable.
- Ability to carry out effective investigations, audits, inspections and compile reports and recommendations as appropriate.
- Experienced in working autonomously and within teams in a fast-paced environment.
