Quality Systems Assurance Officer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Systems Assurance Officer with a well established food company based in West Cork.

 

Reporting to the Technical Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Quality Management System for the site and ensure the plant is audit ready at all times.

 

Full time, Permanent position.

Salary is negotiable depending on experience.

20 Days Annual Leave.

 

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and oversee the daily application of the HACCP plan in the production area.
• Foster a strong food safety culture among the Butter department team by providing ongoing guidance and support to operators.
• Ensure that quality standards for the products are met at every stage, from raw material inspection to processing, storage, and product shipping.
• Manage microbiological testing activities (such as swabbing, cleaning validation, and shelf life testing) at the facility.
• Collaborate with the Production Supervisor to implement established product quality procedures and uphold the 5S principles.
• Investigate and address the root causes of issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Identify and carry out projects aimed at continuous improvement.
• Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders vital to the growth and success of the business.

 

Requirements:

• Hold a degree in Food Science or a related field and have experience working in a similar role within a food production facility accredited by BRC.
• Be hands-on, knowledgeable, and capable of supporting the daily implementation of the plant's HACCP plan.
• Possess experience in dealing with accreditation audits.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills for root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
• Exhibit excellent interpersonal abilities and the capacity to coach and guide operators in promoting a food safety culture.
• Show keen attention to detail and the skill to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Be IT-capable, and the ability to create a database of quality documents is a plus.
