Senior Laboratory Technician

Quorum Search Partners have partnered with a leading FMCG manufacturer in search of a Senior Laboratory Technician located in Longford.

This role will play a key part within the R&D Team to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the on-site laboratory.

Working Hours: 09.15 to 17.30 Monday to Thursday, 09.15 to 16.30 Friday.

Full time, Permanent Position.

Salary is negotiable depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure lab operates efficiently, aligning with standards and staying audit-ready.
• Perform daily chemical testing on raw materials and finished products according to schedules.
• Conduct monthly mineral analysis (Calcium, Phosphorous, Sodium).
• Perform daily effluent testing and report results.
• Conduct weekly boiler water testing and report findings.
• Source and purchase lab materials and equipment while maintaining sufficient stock.
• Assist in installing and calibrating new lab equipment, including initial and subsequent calibrations for finished products and raw materials, and report findings.
• Carry out species testing on selected MRM materials and physically test intermediate products (Gels/Guars) by batch.
• Collaborate with departmental colleagues on ongoing development projects.
• Prepare and distribute analytical reports with trends and analysis.
• Monitor and report out-of-spec results for both finished products and raw materials.

Requirements:

• Third level qualification in Food, Science or related discipline and 3 years experience of working in a laboratory.
• Strong Communication Skills with all organisational levels.
• Knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with experience in document control and quality information systems, with a focus on data interpretation.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
• Highly focused on customer needs, with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Willingness to embrace change, adapt to new processes, and engage in ongoing training.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Meticulous attention to detail in all tasks.
