NPD Technologist

A fantastic opportunity for a NPD Technologist has arisen with our client, a well known Irish food producer based in Cork.

 

As a NPD Technologist, you'll be at the forefront of the company's New Product Development efforts, bringing fresh ideas and technical expertise to the table. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll play a pivotal role in turning concepts into reality, from initial ideation to final launch.

 

Full time, Permanent position.

Hours of work - Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm. 

Time in lieu for overtime.

Company accommodation available.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead NPD & EPD projects from concept to launch, collaborating cross-functionally for innovation.
  • Ensure full compliance with policies, legislation, and product standards.
  • Implement Lean NPD techniques and monitor stage gate development processes.
  • Manage project timelines according to critical path plans.
  • Coordinate day-to-day NPD activities for line extensions and brand pack resizing.
  • Protect and improve process and product quality continuously.
  • Provide leadership and training to NPD staff for effective task completion.
  • Understand business priorities and emphasize lowest cost principles.
  • Provide weekly updates to the NPD account manager on project progress.
  • Liaise with key account retail customers to resolve project issues.
  • Drive continuous improvements within the Innovation Department.
  • Research markets and technologies for new product concepts.

 

Requirements:

  • Hold a third level degree in Food Technology, Science or Food Business.
  • 3 years + experience within FMCG or a Food Manufacturing environment. 
  • Excellent communication, time management and planning/project management experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of Quality systems e.g. BRC Standard, HACCP systems, Allergen control.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of specification and customer systems such as TTL, HG, Igloo or similar.
  • Excellent Knowledge of Food Legislation and legal labelling requirements.
  • Ability for flexible working hours and travel.
