This role is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Food Technologist with a strong background in Technical Management, ideally within the meat industry. As a key member of the core Audit team, you will be responsible for assessing the supplier base of the business. This involves independently auditing a diverse range of vendor sites.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct audits of suppliers according to the company's requirements, verifying facilities, procedures, and systems.
• Ensure suppliers comply with company standards to maintain food safety and quality throughout the supply chain.
• Audit various supply commodities including meat, dry ingredients, packaging, services, and consumables.
• Prepare comprehensive audit reports and issue non-conformances to suppliers, tracking timely corrective actions.
• Evaluate and grade suppliers in line with company standards, consulting with the Technical Team as needed.
• Assist in developing and maintaining a vendor management program to ensure quality and safety in the supply base.
• Plan and conduct food audits on vendors in compliance with HACCP, BRC, and customer requirements.
• Travel extensively within Europe and occasionally outside of Europe, up to 70% of the time.

 

Requirements:

• Third-level qualification in food or agricultural science discipline.
• 5 years+ relevant industry experience in an auditing role or high level quality assurance within the food industry. Essential for this role will be supplier auditing experience.
• Current certification in at least one of the following: Lead Food Auditor, HACCP.
• Meat experience a definite plus.
• Lead Auditor or equivalent qualification.
• Knowledge of BRC, IFS and ISO 9001/22000.
• Full drivers licence.
