Thermal Processing Technologist

Our client, a leading manufacturer based in Co. Longford, is seeking a Thermal Processing Technologist to join their Quality Team.

 

The primary focus of the Thermal Processing Technologist will be to ensure compliance to the thermal processing requirements ensuring only safe food fully cooked is produced.

 

This person will be responsible for the quality in this area.

Role: 

  • Thermal processing - validations, micro testing, training operators, maintaining procedures & records. 
  • Trending of Raw Material issues.
  • Ensuring SOPs and Procedures are in line with BRC/IFS and retailer requirements & COPS (Codes of practice).
  • Communicating any issues at the daily production meeting.
  • Preparation and Logging of weekly external water test results.
  • Cover Quality Coordinator role in relation to temporary instructions and customer complaints.
  • Work closely with other members of the Quality Dept to achieve the Key quality Objectives of the site.
  • Track Quality performance for the Site.
  • Member of Internal Audit, Traceability and HACCP Teams.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis programmes and perform GAP analysis.
  • Assist the QM in working.

 

Requirements: 

  • Third level qualification in Food Science, Quality Management or similar.
  • Ideally 3-4 years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment (Thermal Processing experience is an advantage).
  • Demonstrated numerical ability to record, interpret and analyse key process data.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to drive continuous improvement.
  • A high level computer literacy and competency – Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project.
  • Ideally some experience in the development and management of quality systems in a regulated environment, including process management principles, document control and approval, internal audits and continual improvement.
  • A willingness to travel to other sites throughout Europe as and when required.
